We’ve been busy sorting out the garden ready for summer over the last two weekends. Lee has worked so hard fixing fences and doing all the heavy, mucky jobs. I’ve just minced about sweeping up and doing pointless stuff >_< It's almost all finished now. We just have the back fence to fix and I've got to jet wash the drive. It'll be nice to actually be able to sit out and enjoy the garden. I keep meaning to take so photos of the front of the house but I never remember when it's light! I painted the door a lovely mallard blue/green and mum planted up my baskets for summer. I'm not having my usual amount of pots because I just can't stand the stress of trying to stop the snails eating everything. It genuinely upsets me. I fucking hate the slimy(sp?) little things. So I'm just going to have 4 or 5 pots with geraniums in, I like geraniums and they don't. I've also planted up almost all the shrubs I had in pots in an effort to fill the borders. It still looks pretty empty everywhere but I'll buy a few big things when I see them, half dead in bargain corner. Thats how I got all my big plants, I just shove them in and they come up lovely the next year.

Yesterday I finally went and got my tattoo sorted out. I went to a really lovely guy in Rochdale called Sween. He did a brilliant job and managed to turn a completely shit, badly drawn tattoo into something beautiful. I'm going back for my feet done in the next couple of months.

I have been doing quite a bit of crafty stuff, drawing, beads, knitting, crochet. I think because I’m not stressed out about work anymore I can actually concentrate long enough to finish something. I made this cute dress for Lyra and think I’ll put them on Etsy to see if they sell.

It’s lovely not having to think about marketing or rent for the time being. I can’t tell you how much happier I am. It’s nice not to have to leave *D* while I go to work. even though it was just 3 half days that he went to my mums I used to feel so guilty. I love my boy. He’s grown up so much in the last couple of months. He’s really tall and we have proper conversations now. Yesterday we discussed whether or not the Hulks willy was green. We decided it was.

Shell is feeling: bald

I finally went to far with the hair dying. I actually melted my hair this time and had to shave it with the clippers. I now have a number 4 on top and number 3 at the back and sides. The colour is really horrible, like a pinkish brown because my hair is so fucked that it just won’t hold any colour. I will just have to keen shaving it until I can get it dark brown again. It’s been a very traumatic couple of days! LOL
I’m seriously thinking about going a bit shorter just so I can dye it. I mean really will it being half an inch shorted make it look any worse? I don’t think it will.

Shell is feeling:Excited

Things are looking up. I am now studioless and if I’m honest it feels brilliant. I’ve been able to sleep at night for the first time in months. I’ve been working on photographs that I had previously dismissed as rubbish just because they didn’t fit in with the look I wanted for my business. I’m actually enjoying photography again. I have re-designed www.shelleyselwood.co.uk and have organised some prints for sale on ETSY. It feels like I’ve got my life back.

We enjoyed our first camping trip of the year but it was really bloody cold! Buxton is lovely, it’d be a nice place to live I think. The next time we go with the kids it’ll be June so should be nicer weather. Lee and I are going to York in a couple of weeks but really we’re just going to go out and get drunk so I’ don’t think we’ll feel the cold all that much.

As I’m typing this my blonde hair is being dyed bright red. The blonde is driving me nuts, I’m constantly obsessing about my roots so I thought I’d take a little break. I might have it blonde again at some stage but at the moment I just can’t be arsed!

We saw Aidan Smith @ the Globe and he was brilliant. Charming as ever, I fell a little bit in love with him again.

I’ve not felt like writing here lately. Partly because I’ve been feeling miserable and it doesn’t make for nice reading. work is picking up but I just feel like I’m wasting so much money on the studio. I’ve only been using it for shoots so even if I have 5 sessions a week, that’s £65.00 for 5 hours plus the petrol it costs me to drive down there. I’ve been doing all my editing at home and so it’s just sat there, empty. I’m seriously thinking about building something at the side of the house. What I don’t quite know.

We’re off to Buxton for a couple of days on Friday, it’ll be nice to get away from everything.

Shell is feeling: Fed up

Well everything is a bit shit here. Work is rubbish, we’re skint, and I’ve been cheating on my diet. The diet cheating was down to the fact that there was loads of chocolate in the house. Luckily I haven’t gained any weight because although I was eating chocolate I wasn’t really eating anything else. Work is depressing. I have bookings for the next 2 weekends and some people in tomorrow night but thats it. I’m doing a promotion thinger at a kids ball pit play centre thing this sunday so hopefully that will bring in some clients. If not I don’t know what I’ll do :/

I’m trying to stay positive and just look forward to the summer. We’ve booked a couple of camping trips and the thought of spending time away with the kids and Lee is really the only thing to cheer me up at the moment.

Shell is feeling: Tired like a motherbitch

I’m tired. Everyday I struggle to wake up and it’s horrible.

Shell is feeling: Weird
I’m going in work today and I feel a kind of dread. I’m not sure why but it’s definately there. I’m also going to stop off on the way to pick *D* up to take a shot I’ve been meaning to take for ages. I’m so lazy sometimes. It’ll only take me 5 minutes to get out of the car and take the shot.

I’m working up the courage to get my Kurt Halsey tattoo sorted out. Johnny did a pretty shitty job of outlining it and although I really like him, I’ve decided not to go back there. I’m going to go to Steve Potton in Hadfield. He’s got a really good reputation and his work is brilliant. I’m going to email him later and try and book in. He’s booked up really far in advance so I want to get things going as soon as I can. I want it looking lovely by summer. I’ve also decided that wen I’ve lost all my weight I’m going to get a half sleeve done on my left arm. I think it will be a koi with cherry blossoms. I’m excited about that ^_^ I’m actually doing pretty well with the weight loss. I managed not to gain back the weight I lost before xmas which was about a stone and I’ve lost 12lbs in the last 4 weeks. Really I need to join a gym but it’s such a daunting prospect. If I had someone to go with I’d feel better.

Last nights dream was pretty awsome and very dirty. It involved Russell AND Noely together ^_^ Happy times……..

Shell is feeling: cold

I went back to have my new veneers fitted today but one didn’t fit right so I have to go back yet gain. I’m so fed up with going to the dentist. I wish I had the money to just go private and get my teeth all sorted in one go. As it is I have to keep waiting until something goes wrong before the NHS will do anything. I’m fucked off really. It’s a constant battle to get them to provide the treatment on the NHS because they are so fucking greedy. Also it’s not like I’m on benefits (worse luck) and don’t pay. It’s costing a fortune every time I go. I must have been at least 10 times in the last year. Celeste reckons *D* robbed me of my calcium when I was pregnant and thats why I’m having so much trouble now……

I got some lovely mothers day presents though. *L* drew me a really good picture of Vince & Howard and *D* drew me as a robot. I also got a knitters journal & a amigurumi book.


I’ve been doing lots of knitting but don’t seem to be getting anywhere with it. I should get everything together and take pics to see exactly what I’ve achieved, or not.
